please join me in my prayers for all flood effected people of new orleans and other areas.I have recently experienced the devastation in my own country , India ,so i feel the grief in my heart ,o god please ,please help everyone ,provide them with a new good life.Thank you. Swamiji--the devastation from this hurricane is the worst disaster this country has ever encountered. Emotionally the people of the US are not prepared for an understanding of what it takes for so many people to be relocated and try to get their lives back together. Many of the refugees are being sent all over the country. Reno will receive approximately 300 families--I cannot imagine the emotional impact of being moved from the hot, humid familiar area of New Orleans, to this dry desert of Reno. And culturally we are so different. I pray that the emotional shock for our Reno refugees will be managable for them. Of course, we will all be looking into the problem of helping them get acclimated. But honestly, this country is not used to the community effort it takes to meet the demands of such a relocation--I pray that my fellow Reno-ites will be able to meet this challenge with generosity and Spiritual Grace. We thank you for your prayers. (Just a footnote: you had instructed my daughter and her fiance to contribute to charity in honor of St. Francis as part of the festivities around their wedding--they chose the New Orleans victims for their donation)
